Complete Site Signage for Hall’s New Horotiu Transport Hub
One new facility. Multiple signage requirements. One consistent brand from the roadside to the warehouse floor.
Start a Signage ProjectA complete signage system for a major working environment.
When Hall’s developed its new transport and storage hub at Horotiu, there was much more to consider than simply putting a logo on the building.
The site required a coordinated range of exterior, operational, safety and workplace signage that would help people identify the facility, navigate it safely and experience a consistent Hall’s brand throughout.
Located in the North Waikato, the new facility expands Hall’s transport and storage capability within one of New Zealand’s most important freight corridors.
For Number 1 Signs, it was the kind of project that brought together many of the things our team does every day — just on a much larger scale.
Multiple signage solutions. One consistent result.
Making the building unmistakably Hall’s
The building signage is one of the most visible parts of the Horotiu project. Large Hall’s lettering and the oversized snowflake graphic give the facility strong brand presence while still working cleanly with the architecture of the building.
On a large commercial site, scale matters. Signage needs to be clearly identifiable from a distance without overwhelming the building when viewed up close.
The finished result gives Hall’s a bold, confident exterior that makes the facility immediately recognisable.
Privacy, safety and branding in one
Hall’s snowflake became a strong visual feature throughout the office glazing, turning a practical requirement into something that also reinforces the brand.
More than just frosting
Frosted film provides privacy where it is needed, improves visibility across large areas of glass and creates a cleaner, more professional internal environment.
Rather than applying a generic privacy strip, the Hall’s snowflake was used as a repeating graphic element in different sizes, giving the glazing a distinctive branded treatment while still keeping the overall look subtle.
It is a good example of functional signage doing more than one job at the same time.
Clear information in a busy working environment
On a transport and storage site, signage is not only about appearance. Staff, drivers, contractors and visitors need clear information that helps them understand where they are going, what the hazards are and what procedures apply.
Health & Safety
Clear, well-organised safety information helps keep important procedures visible and easy to understand within the workplace.
Forklift Operations
Custom signage provides operators with the information they need while keeping the presentation aligned with the Hall’s brand.
Site Communication
Purpose-built information boards give staff a clear place for site updates, procedures and day-to-day operational communication.
Signage for the people behind the business
Not every sign is about directing vehicles, identifying buildings or communicating safety information.
The custom Hall’s Heroes recognition board gives the team a dedicated place to celebrate staff achievements throughout the year.
It is a small part of the wider project, but it is a good example of how signage can also contribute to workplace culture and internal communication.
The work behind the finished sign
Large signage projects involve more than producing graphics. Planning, access, installation and coordination all play a part in getting the finished result right.
Big project or small job — the same attention to detail.
The Hall’s Horotiu project shows the range of work Number 1 Signs can bring together across one commercial site — branding, wayfinding, operational signage, safety communication, workplace graphics and installation.
But not every project needs to be this large. We work with local businesses, schools, trades, vehicle fleets and national organisations, helping deliver the right signage for the job.
